Founded in 1997, by local beach volleyball legend Mike Dodd, and restaurateur Dan Boehle, Fonz’s, (named after Mike Dodd’s Dad), is at the top of the list, when it comes to fine dining in Manhattan Beach. What started out as a fun thought, has turned into a well established and very successful restaurant.

In January of 2005, Mike sold the restaurant to his partner Dan Boehle. Boehle has been in charge of Fonz’s since the beginning, and is a big reason why Fonz’s has beaten the odds, in a very tough business. Boehle also attributes the more recent success, to what he calls the best starting five lineup, ever assembled. Aimee Fahlbusch, (a diamond in the rough, and an absolute gift from the Gods), Walter Tomlinson, (longtime friend whom I’ve had the pleasure to work with, and a treat to be around), Isaias Nunez, (the main reason we are still in business. His food is exceptional, and continues to compete with the best). Margarito, (what can I say. He by far is the most dedicated worker I have ever been around. Just ask for his story when you come in. And last but not least, my staff, which most have been with me for 6 years or more. ” I hope this team never splits up”, Boehle says.
